Cast Stone Finishes
All cast stone products can come in any of the following stains or patinas. You will have the opportunity to select your color during the checkout process.
Each patina is applied by hand in a multi-step process that makes every piece a unique and beautiful original. The patinas are designed to replicate the look of natural aging, but unlike a painted finish, these patinas do not prevent the natural aging process. Any cast stone item with a patina finish will weather naturally in an outdoor environment. Because each patina is hand applied and the products are photographed in natural settings, actual colors may vary from those depicted in the images.

These acid stains are a mixture of water, metallic salts, and muriatic acid. They work by penetrating the surface and reacting chemically with the hydrated lime (calcium hydroxide) in the cast stone. The acid in the stain etches the surface, allowing the metallic salts to penetrate the surface. This process creates a permanent stain in the surface of the concrete which will not flake or peel.
Terra Nera is a rich, dark, earthy stain of black and brown. Ferro Rustico mimics the appearance of rusty iron. Pietra Vecchia is a combination of browns and greens which imitates the look of weathered stone. Like stains for wood, each piece will accept the stain in varying degrees of intensity, creating natural color variations that brings character and distinction to each piece. Even when treated with the same stain under the same process, no two pieces will look exactly alike due to the variance in the composition of the natural materials in the cast stone, as well as the varying ages of the pieces.
